Ahoy all BSCers;
If you are interested in sailboat racing, want to learn more about it or just need an excuse to get out on the water this fall and winter--I have the perfect solution for you: consider crewing on Water Phantom in the NYRA 2025 Winter Series*, Nov 1-Feb 7 plus the Commodore's Ball Regatta on Feb 21.
Due to job changes, boat purchases, etc. I am looking for "...a few good men and women...", to join the crew this year. I need crew with or without any racing experience--you will learn by doing--and I am more concerned with your commitment to learn than your racing skills. The latter can be learned but the former you must bring with you. FYI, most of my crew have been on the boat for several years and some have been on board for ~ 20 years but there is always room for more!
All you need to bring is your personal gear (hat, gloves, foul weather gear if rain is likely, personal PFD--I have generics only, maybe a multi-tool and/or a knife). I provide beverages and sandwiches for lunch and adult beverages for after race celebrations (or pity parties!)
If interested, have questions, etc., just give me a call or text me and we can go into further details.

*All Series races are on Saturday with the 1st Warning Flag at 10:55, and there are usually 3 fleets, Spinnaker, Non-spinnaker and Cruising and 7 race Saturdays, with a goal of 3 races per day. Water Phantom usually races in the Spinnaker Fleet.
FYI getting the boat ready to sail ('...making ship...') and putting her away after the races, usually means a full day on the water from about 9 till 4. Plus there is a social after every scheduled race Saturday--usually at a local racer's house.
