The Fairfield Harbor POA has determined that they are upgrading their key pad entry system to an RFID System at the Barkentine Dr. club access. The final change over to that system and removal of the code box will be on or about June 16. Until then members will need to continue using the old code box. OUR CLUB GATE WILL REMAIN THE SAME AT THIS TIME.
Let's explore what you need to know about these new security solutions.
You may order additional card/stickers from our BSC website. Purchased items will be mailed to your current address on file on or about June 16th. Charges will be billed. to your BSC account.
Access with Existing RFID Card - $5.00 ( CLICK LINK TO ORDER )
Next-gen security RFID card entry systems works similarly to our present gate cards. This integration not only enhances overall easy of use by holding up the card to the gate's scan box but it's transferable to other vehicles as long as you have the card with you.
RFID Window Sticker - $10.00 ( CLICK LINK TO ORDER )
Hand free drive thru capabilities allow users to quickly enter in real-time. The sticker should be attached to your windshield behind mirror and opens the gate automatically.

Live call to Main FH Gate Security Guard
If you don't have any of the below methods to enter then this option is the best. Simply press the CALL BUTTON on the card reader box and talk to the guard to get access. The gate is manned 24/7 unless there is an emergency.
Additional FREE access by downloading a bluetooth APP will be available soon
Mobile Phone Security Option
Mobile Integration with an App - IT"S FREE
Users can control entry access from their smartphones by just opening the app and hold your phone to the entry box. First you will need to download the FHA App (link to download will be provided shortly) and set it up to gain access right from your phone via bluetooth. According data most users prefer using a mobile phone access over traditional methods for its cost (FREE), convenience and flexibility.
Challenges and Considerations
Despite the numerous advantages of next-gen security entry systems, potential users should consider possible challenges the club faces for large sailing events. To handle all the sailing traffic on a regatta weekend we will coordinate with FHA POA to have the Barkentine Dr. gate opened by contacting the Security Guard (via box call button) for easy non-member access.
Final Thoughts on Security Enhancements
The new security entry system signals a significant evolution in our approach to securing entrance into our club's community. It is somewhat fluid as FH POA implements their system. We will do our best to communicate any changes as frequently as possible. If you have questions or comments please email our Vice Commodore - Cliff Lennox at vicecommodore@blackbeardsailingclub.org
Thank you for your patience during the change over.
